A short moorland walk with a tough start climbing Shadworth Lane to reach The Pennine Bridleway along Moor Edge Road to overlook Carrbrook.

Further climbing through rough heather will lead us to the ancient site of Buckton Castle that was built strategically with extensive and commanding views in all directions.

Onward and around Buckton Vale quarry we will eventually climb to the summit of Alphin Pike with more excellent views before descending pasts Noonsun Hill to follow the Oldham Way back to Shadworth lane and a descent back to the Pub!
